Rare or localised Outstanding size These trees are large specimens located in parkland and were presumably planted at turn of the century. Another specimen occurs in the Uniting Church grounds, Creswick. Contribution to the landscape Rare or localised. Only two other examples of this species are known in cultivation (Victoria Park, Ballarat). It is, however, an important addition to the collection of pines growing in the Park which contains eight different species. Rare or Localised An attractive tree with a narrow crown. This species is uncommon in cultivation in Victoria. Other known examples occur at Marysville and State plantation at Narbethong. The tree has attractive scaly bark, grey in colour. The many elm suckers nearby should be removed and a Fraxinus ornus is growing west of the tree.
